Mr Habib Yousfi graduated in Law in 1953 at The University of Paris.
In 1954, he joined the national movement for independence. The following year he was imprisoned because of his activity and he was released three years later. In 1958 he continued the struggle for independence from Morocco.
In 1959, he proposed some instances to the Moroccan government and he played a key role in the establishment of Social Security in Morocco. He was appointed with the highest decorations by King Hassan II.
In 1962, once Algeria was finally independent, he was appointed to be in charge of the Secretary by the First President of the Algerian Republic. In 1965 he left his functions because of the establishment of a socialist economic system.; the following year he founded a private company for a democratic economic system.
In 1989 he founded the “General Confederation of economic entrepreneurs” –CG.O.E.A-of which he became President in 1991. This organisation played a key role in the democratisation of the economic field and of the development of SMEs in the emerging economies.
Starting from this background, the organisation evolved into “General Confederation of Algerian Enterprises- CGEA”.
Afterwards, the CGEA’s President Yousfi let his organisation to take part to UMCE- Mediterranean Union of Enterprises Confederation, which became BUSINESSMED, of which he became Vice President in the period 2006-2007.
Among his activities, Mr Yousfi took part to some legal studies about the economic and trade development, organised by the Trade Department at Washington in 2001. He got an Award from this institution. Moreover, he took part to a meeting in Beyrouth, established by the same institution and he got another Award.
