Amina Benkhadra

Mrs Amina Benkhadra is the Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment since October 15, 2008. She is setting up a new strategy for the energy and water sectors for the medium end the long terms. Energy strategy focussed on the supply security, the generalization of energy access, regional integration and sustainable development. She is currently the Managing Director of Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines “ONHYM”, Former Secretary of State in charge of the Mining Sector Development, Appointed on August 20, 2000 by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, she is setting up a new petroleum strategy which allowed attracting several international oil companies. Nearly 30 oil companies are presently active in oil exploration throughout the Kingdom. Achievement of BRPM and ONAREP merger and creation of ONHYM.
Appointed on January 19, 2000 by His Majesty King Mohammed VI as member of the Experts Committee in charge of the Investments Promotion.
Mrs Benkhadra is, also, Chairwoman of the Moroccan Mineral Industry Federation (FDIM) and Member of the National Council for Foreign Trade since October 2002.
